Hi Girls… Last Saturday I went with some of the Surfer Girl team to join the Bali Pink Ribbon Walk 2010 in Nusa Dua
This was the 2nd year of the annual charity event which is held with the goals of increasing the public awareness about breast cancer and also raising the much needed funds to support the detection and treatment of breast cancer patients in Bali.
The event began with cool gymnastic exercise and some fun laughter yoga, followed by a beautiful 5 km walk at Nusa Dua Peninsula Island at Bali Tourism Development Corporation Complex
At the finishing point of the walk, there was even more fun to be had with a mini bazaar, lucky draw, silent auction, and awesome band performance and other cool entertainment to keep the good times rolling
As girls being aware about our own health and well being as well as the health of those that we love is very important.
In Bali every year right now the number of women with breast cancer is increasing. One of the most important things for all of us girls to remember is that breast cancer can be treated more effectively if it is detected early on.
This is why the organizers of the Bali Pink Ribbon Walk are trying to spread awareness about how girls can check for the early signs of cancer themselves and also working towards raising enough funds to purchase the necessary breast cancer screening equipment that would allow doctors to detect and treat breast cancer in women in the early stages.
On behalf of the Surfer Girl family, girls and women of Bali I wanna give a big shout out to the Bali Pink Ribbon Walk organizers for such an awesome initiative and I look forward to the walk next year
