The thing that I love about traditional greeting cards is that they are written with your own personal handwriting, something that you can’t quite achieve with an e-card!!
They carry personal and romantic notions of the warmth and emotional attachment from the sender to the recipient.
On my birthday, I received some beautiful and unique birthday cards from my relatives and friends living overseas, and they are very cute. Over the years, I have collected and piled them into a special box in my room. Now I need new space for my new greeting cards, so I’m going to have to take out some of the old ones.
They are so cute that I didn’t want to just throw them away
Instead of throwing them into the bin, I decided to recycle and reuse them. You can certainly do the same for your cards too!
Here’s a few tips on how to yourself:
- Cut the front cover off of the greeting cards that have no writing, and use them as new postcards
- Create a new card from the old ones by cutting them into pieces and paste them onto a new blank card (who knows, your new creation may be even cuter than the cards were originally!)
- Cut the holiday cards into square or rectangular shapes and punch holes in the corners for ribbon, and use them as gift tags
- Cut cards into small pieces and create a mini jigsaw puzzle (if you made a really great one you could even give it to someone as a gift
) - Take your favorite cards, frame them and hang them on the wall

Now, you can use these beautiful new but old cards and make it art or send them to your dear family and friends
