I have found more reason to love and be proud of Indonesia. The biodiversity has been famous among the scientists all over the world and the discovery always surprising.
I want to introduce you to Mountains Foja, located just north of the Mamberamo river basin in Papua Indonesia. The mountain rise to 2,193 meters and have 3,000 square kilometers of old growth tropical rainforest, the Foja forest covers 9,712 square kilometers and is the largest unroaded tropical forest in the Asia Pacific region. Much of the area around Foja Mountains is too steep for conventional logging and considered unsafe due to the inaccessibility. The region nickname The Lost World comes from the inaccessibility that allowed the species to evolve in isolation.
Recently, after spending just few weeks in this pristine rainforest on the island of New Guinea, an international survey team uncovered at least dozen new mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insect and birds including a Pinocchio-like frog and the world smallest wallaby. There more awesome fact that many of the animals are found nowhere else but in our amazing Foja mountaintops.
Foja Mountains or The Lost World just one from many very rich rainforest areas in Indonesia and we are tremendously lucky to have them as the part of our country. Now the responsibility is in our own hands to save them from any kind of natural destruction. Let’s do it girls!
Love Summer ❤
