This afternoon, at around 1 pm at Halfway beach, Kuta, a few of my surfing friends and I attended the photoshoot trial with Magicwave for their upcoming edition, which will bring up Kartini as its theme.

To celebrate Kartini day this month, on the 18th of April, Magicwave will hold a surfing photoshoot competition and invite all photographers from around the world. This event will be named “Kartini Surfing”.

In this competition, all girl surfers will be challenged to surf while wearing traditional kebaya and kamben (fabric)! Just like Ibu Kartini’s profile who always wore traditional clothing of Indonesia, the kebaya.

Because this has never been done before, today they held a trial at Halfway beach. Check out how we tried to surf wearing kebaya today! :-)
