A beautiful piece of art arrived this morning at Surfer Girl’s office. A beautiful painting made by a little girl name Mimi. Mimi is an orphan that lives at the Benih Harapan Orphanage. The children at the orphanage were visited recently by a mixed media artist from Los Angeles (USA) who gave a creative artwork class at the orphanage.

These paintings were sold in an auction during an art show on 18^th of December 2009 that took place at the office/classroom of Soul Surf Project Bali.

Soul Surf Project Bali have bought one of the paintings and sent it to Surfer Girl as a New Year gift, how awesome is that?

Soul Surf Project Bali is a program dedicated to creating awareness about environmental issues and how they can contribute themselves to make Bali a cleaner and healthier place to live in.

The program is structured in a way that tries to make sure that children who participate not only get a free surf lesson but also learn the importance of environmental awareness and protection.

The children follow a series of environmental lessons and participate in beach clean ups, after which, if they complete these elements successfully, are rewarded with free surf lessons.

By being in the elements of Mother Nature, they will learn to respect it. On a regular basis the kids can also participate in surf-yoga or in making art (inspired by nature and surfing).

All elements of the program are designed in a way to keep kids interested and of course also have FUN!

Surfer Girl is committed to engage itself in activities that support Surfer Girl’s core values of Love, Nature, Friends, and Fun. Therefore, Surfer Girl has been proudly supporting Soul Surf Project Bali Since the end of 2009 and will continue to do so in 2010.
